Pantone Color of the Year: Marsala

I haven't forgot that I said I would do a blog post on our house, but while I'm still waiting on our custom coffee table & roman shades I thought I would write a post on the Pantone color of the year.  I typically don't pay much attention to the color of the year but this year I really love the color!  It kinda surprised me because I am not a huge fan of reds.  Really, the only red you will see me wearing or around our house is if has to do with my alma mater, the Georgia Bulldogs.  Marsala is not the red from the 90's that adorned the walls of what seemed like every dining room, but it has a sophisticated, natural earthiness to it.  I especially love Marsala when it's paired with light blues, rich turquoise, deep blues and green foliage colors.  I think I like this color best when used as an accent color, it really grounds a space well andddd... I actually just bought a new sofa and Marsala is in the floral pillows I selected!  I have also had a leather clutch for years that is Marsala!  Does that make me a trend setter?  ;)  What do you think of Pantone's color of the year?  Check out some of my favorite images below using Marsala.
